Lady Beavers Pick Up a Win in Phoenix

The Lady Beavers went one for five this past weekend at the Phoenix College Tournament in Phoenix, AZ.
 
The Beavers picked up their win against Scottsdale Community College, while falling to Chandler Gilbert Community College, Mesa Community College, Glendale Community College, Phoenix College, and Western Arizona Community College. 
 

Shayla Jacob to Lead PCC Cheer and Dance Squad

Pratt Community College will look to utilize the experience and success of Shayla Jacob to point their Cheer and Dance Squad in a new direction in 2010. The Lawrence native has had plenty of both, with over fifteen years of cheer, dance and gymnastics coaching, and a 1998 NDA National Championship title while at Barton County Community College.

Baseball Sweeps Hesston

The Pratt Beavers swept a doubleheader with Hesston College on Wednesday.  The Beavers won the first game 15-0 in a run-rule.  The grabbed the second game with a 12-2 win, also in a run-rule.
 

Information Network Technology

Pratt Community College is currently offering an A.A.S. degree program in Information Network Technology (INT). The program emphasizes IT industry recognized certifications such as CompTIA (A+ & Network+), as well as, Microsoft, and Cisco certifications, and prepares the student to successfully complete the certification exams. In addition, the program provides hands-on work experience through partnerships with local and statewide businesses that are either IT based, or have an in-house IT department.  The INT program provides instruction in:

  • Computer and Network Hardware
  • Computer and Network operating systems and protocols
  • Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Introductory and Advance computer programming
  • Webpage design
  • Network switch and router technology
  • Computer Applications

The Information Technology field continues to grow at a substantial rate and qualified Computer Technicians, Network Technicians, and Network Administrators are in demand. Entry-level career opportunities in Information Technology awaits those who have the necessary skills and education to meet the demand. This two year program prepares you for a successful career in the Information Technology field.
